Apple Expands Again in Seattle

Apple is expanding once again in downtown Seattle in one of the city’s tallest skyscrapers, Two Union Square, a 56-story office tower. This expansion is adding space for a capacity of 500 Apple employees across five different floors.

Apple first established it’s Seattle marking in 2014 with its 2014 acquisition of Union Bay Networks. In 2015, Apple began leasing a floor and a half in downtown Seattle’s Two Union Square. According to GeekWire, in 2016, “Apple acquired the startup Turi, establishing the office as a development for artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies.”

In addition to Google and Facebook, GeekWire states that “Apple is following an established blueprint of big tech companies opening engineering offices in the Seattle area to take advantage of the region’s deep talent pool.” With the tech competition booming, the tech giants continue to become aggressive and show no signs in stopping in Seattle anytime soon.
