Amazon’s Expected to Take Two More Buildings in Bellevue

Because of the proposed head tax in Seattle, Amazon is now looking more into Bellevue as the next location for more of its employees in Washington State. Currently, Amazon is pausing its plans for two office building spaces in Seattle until the City Council makes a decision on whether to impose a “per-employee tax on big businesses to raise $75 million a year for homelessness services and low-income housing.”

City Council members that favor the head tax on big businesses say that options to raise funds are limited because Washington State does not tax income or capital gains. Because of this, Bellevue is looking more and more attractive to larger tech companies.

With space already in Bellevue’s Centre 425 building, an outside source says Amazon is also expected to take over the Summit III building and Tower 333. At this moment in time, Bellevue has availability not only for Amazon, but for any other company in Seattle that is looking to move over to the Eastside. These three properties in particular, have a total of over 1 million square feet office space available:

Summit III Tower: 17-story building | 370,000 square feet |  Located at 320 108th Avenue NE, Bellevue

Tower 333: 20-story building | 374,000 square feet | Located at 333 108th Avenue NE, Bellevue

The Spring District Block 16: 11-story building coming soon in 2023 | 311,200 square feet | Located at 1227 124th Avenue NE, Bellevue
